Justice Department Defends Health Care Reform in Court

Obama Administration lawyers fought back against the conservative legal attack on health care reform today, urging the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta to strike down a January ruling where a judge tried to invalidate the entire law because he argued that requiring all Americans to buy health care was unconstitutional. The three-judge panel is not expected to issue a ruling for a few months, but this is the highest court so far that has heard the claims of right-wing attorneys general and former Bush Administration officials.
